With performances across the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America by leading orchestras, choirs, and soloists, Eugene Birman (b. 1987 - Daugavpils, Latvia) is a composer of music of "high drama" and "intense emotion" (BBC). His highly public career has led to appearances on the world's most important media outlets, including CNN, BBC World TV, Radio France, and countless others. He graduated with an M.M. degree from the Juilliard School and holds a B.A. in Economics from Columbia University. He is currently pursuing a D.Phil in Music at the University of Oxford, Christ Church. Scott Diel is an American freelance writer who lives in Tallinn, Estonia. He’s published fiction, non-fiction, journalism, and essays in the US and Europe.

“Nostra Culpa” was his first project with composer Eugene Birman. Since its completion the pair have produced two additional works, “No. 289” and “Erlkönig,” and are at work on a fourth.
